What it sounds like
Short, flat and precise, with no ring at all: a pin going into cork. There is a hard tick on top and a tiny thump underneath that you feel more than hear. It is the most matter-of-fact click in the set.
Good for
- Forms, checklists and anything with a lot of small decisions
- Shared offices, since it is crisp but not loud
- Pairing with a quiet keyboard
How it is made
One burst of white noise centered at 3.2 kHz, a triangle wave that drops from 1.8 to 1.2 kHz in eight milliseconds, and a low sine sliding from 420 to 260 Hz for the thump. No body, and nothing in it lasts longer than about 20 ms, so it stays flat.
Every qliqr sound is synthesised from a small text recipe, so the version you hear here is the same one the Mac app plays, with natural variation so no two presses are identical.
