Belfry

What it sounds like

A tiny bat chirping hello from the rafters: two very high rising chirps on the press and one falling chirp on release. It is thin and high enough to tickle, and there is nothing scary about it. Clicking with it feels like something small is answering you.

Good for

• October, obviously
• Playful seasonal streams and demos
• People who want a click in the squeak register

How it is made

A single sine tone that glides from 5.2 up to 7.4 kHz, repeated once 45 ms later a little quieter. The release is one sine sliding from 6.1 down to 4.3 kHz. No noise, no body.

Every qliqr sound is synthesised from a small text recipe, so the version you hear here is the same one the Mac app plays, with natural variation so no two presses are identical.
