What it sounds like
A muted wooden tap, like a knuckle on the underside of a reading-room table. There is a hint of woody resonance, enough to tell it apart from a felt pad, but it stays low and polite. It would not earn you a shush.
Good for
- Libraries, study halls and quiet reading
- Long review sessions where you still want some tactile feedback
- A soft click with a little more character than a pure thud
How it is made
A burst of white noise around 700 Hz with a triangle wave falling from 360 to 260 Hz, run through a single soft body mode at 520 Hz that adds the wooden note.
Every qliqr sound is synthesised from a small text recipe, so the version you hear here is the same one the Mac app plays, with natural variation so no two presses are identical.
