What it sounds like
Low, round and cushioned, more felt than heard. The press is a soft bass bump with almost no transient, like a thumb pressing into a pillow. In headphones it sits in the chest rather than the ear.
Good for
- Headphone sessions where you want feedback without any sharpness
- Sleeping households and shared bedrooms
- Pairing with calm, ambient background audio
How it is made
Mostly a sine tone sliding from 220 down to 150 Hz, with a small amount of white noise low-passed at 600 Hz for the touch. It is the one Hush click where the tone, not the noise, carries most of the sound.
Every qliqr sound is synthesised from a small text recipe, so the version you hear here is the same one the Mac app plays, with natural variation so no two presses are identical.
