Boopsie

What it sounds like

A soft, rounded boop from a very polite robot. The press is a pure, slightly drooping tone, and the release answers a little higher, so a click sounds like a two-note bip-bop. Hold the button and it sighs downward.

Good for

• Playful product demos and onboarding videos
• Kids’ tutorials
• Anyone who wants their laptop to sound friendlier than it is

How it is made

A sine tone that eases from 520 to 440 Hz with a 90 ms decay, plus a very quiet sine an octave up. The release is a single rising sine, and the hold variant is a sine gliding from 440 down to 330 Hz over a fifth of a second.

Every qliqr sound is synthesised from a small text recipe, so the version you hear here is the same one the Mac app plays, with natural variation so no two presses are identical.
